   Il famoso articolo 72 del trattato di Sèvres che stabilisce le condizioni di questa strana beffa che dovrebbe chiamarsi « Il Parlamento di Smirne » fa anche allusione a certi fatti che non sarebbe indifferente rammentare.
   Il secondo capoverso dice :
   « Le gouvernement hellénique pourra retarder les élections pendant la période nécessaire au retour des habitants qui auraient été expulsés ou déportés du fait des autorités ottomanes sans toutefois que ce délai puisse excéder un an à dater de la mise en vigueur du présent traité ».
   Ma se gli alleati non hanno dimenticato i massacri e le deportazioni turche durante la guerra (e hanno ragione) non devono neanche dimenticare quel recente voto del Parlamento ellenico che dedicava parecchi milioni di drachme al cosidetto « repeuplement » de la Thrace.
   Per ohi non capirebbe il tragico significato di questa parola basterà ricordare il fatto che, mentre la Camera greca votava nel dicembre scorso, credo, questi crediti, i giornali annunziavano che migliaia di profughi greci incitati a lasciare il Caucaso per andare a creare in Tracia delle maggioranze artificiali
